About Our Students
Students in the Classics department have many opportunities to engage in learning beyond the classroom.
Our students:
- are eager to share Classics with their peers by hosting Classics Week on the UNC Asheville campus each spring
- attend workshops and conventions
- beautify the campus with mosaics and ancient gardens
- conduct archival research
- do archaeological fieldwork
- do peer tutoring
- do internships
- do student teaching
- do study abroad
- do community service
- do undergraduate research
- exhibit the results of their undergraduate research
- host high school students for Junior Classical League Certamen practice
- join the Homecoming parade
- present academic papers at professional conferences
- present research papers at NCUR
- present their research at the UNC Asheville Undergraduate Research Symposium
